Age: 6 years
Color: Blue
Temperament: has problems read below
Name: Boogie
Boogie is a 6 year old boy who has some social issues. While he is friendly
to his person, and o.k. with other adults he does not like children.
He will chase them in an unfriendly manner (growling, barking). He does
not like other dogs and will chase them in an unfriendly manner, bark
and in general be a unruly. His current owner has been unable to walk
him on a leash if there is the possibility of meeting other dogs along
the way, as he is totally focused on the possibility that there might
be another dog around. He can be quite clingy and is vocal for a short
period of time when his current person leaves him, but then lays down
and waits for the return of his special person. He rides very well in
the car, but once again does not like to be left along and will be loud
and vocal for a short time. He has never caused any damage to the car
when he has been left for any length of time. He has a fear of certain
kinds of noise. Beeping from a low battery on the smoke alarm will cause
him to shake and tremble. He has needed to be tranquilized at the 4th
of July.
While all that does not sound very encouraging, he does have some redeeming
behaviors. He is a loving boy to the person he has chosen to be his.
He likes to play, especially with water. The water leaving the hose
or the sprinkler moving is a chase wonderland for him. He likes toys
in the house. He is totally house broken, at his current home he has
a dog door into the back yard. He behaves well at the groomer.
Boogie needs a home where he will be the only dog. He needs a person
who will be home the majority of the time. Maybe someone who is not
real active, Boogie is small enough he can get exercised inside and
out side in a fenced your to play. He needs someone who has owned a
dog in the past. He may be able to have some of behavioral issues helped
with training and the right trainer to help. At 6 years old he is certainly
not to old to have some training. He needs to be in a home where he
will not be exposed to children. He could be put up if children were
present for short periods of time infrequently. They are working on
crate training him.
His current living situation is in a home with younger children and
it has become a problem. The family is concerned he might cross that
line and bite, this has not happened and they don't want it to happen.
So a new home is needed. He is current on all his shots, is neutered,
micochipped.
If you think you are the right person to give this boy a new home where
he will get the attention and care he needs please contact:
